Lakers Rajon Rondo suffers broken right thumb in practice – ESPN

The Lakers took a trip to Orlando on Thursday night for the resumption of the 2019-20 NBA season and practiced for the very first time on Saturday.
Rondo, who signed with the Lakers in 2018, twice missed time during the 2018-19 season after going through separate surgical treatments to fix a fractured third metacarpal in his right-hand man and a torn ligament in his ideal ring finger.
The 34-year-old is balancing 7.1 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds per video game this season. He has appeared in 48 video games for Los Angeles and has started in three.
L.A. is currently without starting guard Avery Bradley, who decided out of the season reboot due to the fact that of coronavirus concerns for his household. The Lakers signed JR Smith as Bradleys replacement for the rest of the season.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Rajon Rondo suffered a damaged right thumb in practice Sunday night in Orlando, Florida, and is expected to return to full basketball activities in six to eight weeks, the team revealed.
Rondo will undergo surgery to fix the fracture today, the team said.
