NASCAR prohibited the Confederate flag on June 10, two weeks after the death of George Floyd. Driver Bubba Wallace, who is Black, was one of the fans behind prohibiting the flag.
After the race was announced, CNBC got in touch with SRX to look for clearness on the flag and was informed the Confederate flag would not be included at future competitions.
According to the declaration, the Montag Group will lead service operations for the SRX and Evernham will oversee all racing activities. George Pyne, the previous COO of NASCAR and the existing CEO of Bruin Sports Capital, a sports investment firm, is a member of the SRX board and will serve as a consultant.
Inquired about the narrative of SRX completing against NASCAR, Stewart minimized the idea, stating SRX isnt in competitors with NASCAR “by any methods” and wishes to have “separation” from the organization..
