Washington legend Darrell Green informs TMZ Sports … there need to be only one route Dan Snyder takes when it comes to renaming his NFL franchise– whichs to choose the “Red Tails” moniker.
” I would say that would be my first and only choice today,” the Hall of Fame cornerback states.
Obviously, the Red Tails was the label offered to the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of African American pilots who combated in World War II with airplanes that had red paint on the tails.
Green says it would be a fantastic proceed Snyders part to call his team that … this after years of keeping the controversial and completely racist “Redskins” nickname.
” The Red Tails are a few of the best heroes of any color in our country,” Green says, “and particularly against the amazing scaries that the Tuskegee Airmen were up versus.”
Greens support of the name comes just days after Washingtons franchise QB, Dwayne Haskins, likewise threw his support behind the potential new mascot.
