The New Orleans Pelicans revealed that forward Zion Williamson left the NBA bubble at the Walt Disney World Resort on Thursday early morning because of an immediate family medical matter and that he intends to rejoin the team at a later date.
” We completely support Zions choice to leave the NBA school to be with his household,” Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin stated in a statement. “Out of respect for the Williamson household, we will have no more remark at this time.”
1 RelatedWilliamson will quarantine for four days upon return to the NBAs bubble if he has an unfavorable test each day hes outside the bubble if hes chosen 7 days or less.
If he is gone longer than a week, he will quarantine for four days if he has a negative test for the last 7 days he is gone. If he doesnt have the needed screening, he will quarantine for 10 days.
Williamson has played in simply 19 games in his novice season for the Pelicans after returning from meniscus surgery in January.
The Pelicans push for a playoff area starts on July 30 when the group plays the Utah Jazz on the opening night of the leagues reboot.
Williamson experimented the Pelicans in Orlando last week and told reporters he had actually spent the time off throughout the NBA hiatus working out with his stepfather, Lee Anderson, when he wasnt rehabbing with Pelicans staffers.
