When Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard got adulation for using a cape in the dunk contest, there was a time. Now hes been disciplined for not using a mask in the NBA bubble.
Howard said he was reported to the NBA Campus Hotline, established to help protect players and staff taking part in the leagues reboot in Orlando, Florida, and got a warning for not covering his face with a mask.
” Somebody informed on me,” Howard stated Wednesday in an Instagram Live post, broadcast to his 2.7 million followers.

For those who break the border of the campus, as has already happened with the Sacramento Kings Richaun Holmes and the Houston Rockets Bruno Caboclo, the league has a stringent procedure in place. Those individuals need to participate in a 10-day quarantine, that includes a more intrusive screening treatment.
There is no uniform punishment for those who are found to be breaching social distancing guidelines. The league will manage infractions as they show up in the way essential to keep the school safe.
Unpleasant it may be to have teams policing one another– thinking about there could be a competitors advantage acquired by reporting an infraction– if the players arent protected from a coronavirus spread in the bubble, there wont be games to be competitive about.
Lakers coach Frank Vogel, speaking on a video teleconference with press reporters Friday, said he was aware of the alerting to Howard.
” [My] response is that we all ought to be wearing masks around the hotel lobby,” Vogel said. “And the locations that were being asked to wear a mask, we ought to use a mask. And hes doing so now.”
Howard published another video to his Instagram story on Thursday. He was using a mask, covered in the NBA logo.
“And the locations that were being asked to use a mask, we should wear a mask. And hes doing so now.”
