Tennessee dismisses Emmit Gooden after aggravated domestic assault arrest – ESPN

Tennessee protective lineman Emmit Gooden, who was featured on the Netflix series “Last Chance U,” has been dismissed from the group following his arrest Thursday on a felony charge of intensified domestic assault.
According to an arrest warrant, authorities have implicated Gooden, 22, of hitting his sweetheart with a glass jar candle light throughout an argument. The lady suffered facial injuries that required stitches, according to the warrant.
He was being hung on $10,000 bond. He has a preliminary hearing arranged for July 28.
Gooden, a senior, was projected to be one of the anchors of Tennessees protective line after missing out on the 2019 season with an ACL injury. He made 33 tackles, including seven deals with for loss, as a backup for the Volunteers in 2018.
Gooden, from Brownsville, Tennessee, was included on the 3rd season of “Last Chance U” while dipping into Independence Community College in Kansas. He had 136 deals with in 2 seasons in junior college and picked the Volunteers over Arkansas and West Virginia.
According to the Knoxville News-Sentinel, Gooden is the second Tennessee gamers dismissed from the team this summer. Running back Tim Jordan was arrested in Florida in June on weapon and cannabis charges. He pleaded guilty recently to a misdemeanor charge of bring a hidden weapon and was sentenced to 12 months of probation, social work and fines.
