Jordan Zimmermann may have tossed his last pitch for the Detroit Tigers.
On Saturday afternoon, supervisor Ron Gardenhire announced Zimmermann was put on the 45-day injured list with a right forearm strain, Gardenhire stated.
Zimmermann, whose agreement expires after this season, was experiencing lower arm soreness before Friday nights intrasquad game and did not make his scheduled start.
He will be restoring the injury, not undergoing surgery, Gardenhire said.

” He comprehends whatever that were doing here,” Gardenhire stated. “Weve had conversations with him. Its not exactly the method he would like it, but he understands the problems were having with the short season and trying to put together this roster.”

Gardenhire said the Tigers are hopeful Zimmermann can return to the mound prior to the season is over.
” Somewhere down the roadway, possibly at the end, I believe he desires to show individuals that he can pitch. But hes got a roadway ahead of him, attempting to stay well.”.
Zimmermann, 34, signed a five-year, $110 million handle the Tigers prior to the 2016 season.
