Saginaw High track and field coach DeEddie Sanders confirmed Martins death..
” Its an unfortunate, unfortunate thing,” said Sanders, including the news was difficult for him as hes known Martin because he remained in 8th grade.
An excellent athlete. Track was his preferred sport.
Sanders said Martin never ever got in problem or missed out on school. He had goals to go to the Olympics, he said.
” That was his main goal,” he stated. “He constantly wished to be the very best.”.

According to WNEM-TV in Saginaw, Martin was one of 2 guys fatally shot in the morning shooting at a Sunoco filling station in Saginaw.
The occurrence happened around 2:19 a.m. at 1944 E. Genesee St. According to WNEM, Martin died at the scene while a 22-year-old male died from gunshot wounds at the medical facility.
A third shooting victim, a 25-year-old female, arrived at a regional hospital with a non-life-threatening injury to her arm.
Saginaw Police Department couldnt be grabbed comment Sunday.
Michigan State Track & & Field posted a tribute to Martin on its Twitter page Sunday afternoon. “We send our condolences to the family and buddies on the death of Tony Martin,” read the post that included a “Rest in peace” graphic revealing images of Martin.

According to his profile on the Michigan State Track and Field lineup, Saginaw was Martins hometown. Martin made his launching as a freshman with a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.95 at the Grand Valley State University Holiday Open in December.
He signed up two top-five surfaces in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational in January. Throughout his first collegiate long jump, he likewise took 6th place with a dive of 6.66 meters at the Power Five Invitational previously this year.
