You may know game designer Image & & Form for its different category experiments, varying from the fantastic RPG SteamWorld Quest to tactical puzzle game SteamWorld Heist. However for its next computer game venture, the Swedish studio is leaving the world of steampunk and robotics behind.
Previously, Polygon called Image & & Forms SteamWorld Quest a “must-own” Nintendo Switch game. Its been a while since the designer made a video game outside of the franchise, so this will be a bit of a gamble– though if current releases are any sign, we can anticipate some carefully tuned gameplay.
Announced throughout the Xbox Games Showcase, The Gunk is a new adventure where players will take on scary enemies and try to resolve puzzles that obscure a grander mystery. No release date beyond the year 2021 was set for the Xbox Series X version of the game, though it seems most likely that The Gunk will likewise be readily available on other platforms.
