The U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, will not proceed this year after uncertainty created by the coronavirus pandemic forced Solution One to abandon plans to race in the U.S.A., Mexico, Brazil and Canada in 2020.
COVID-19 infection rates in the U.S., Mexico and Brazil are amongst the highest worldwide, and, when that was integrated with the logistical obstacle of moving the sports travelling circus in between continents, F1 decided it was impossible to prepare for races in those areas.

A news release stated “the fluid nature of the continuous COVID-19 pandemic, regional restrictions and the significance of keeping communities and our colleagues safe” meant it was no longer possible to host races in the Americas this year.
F1 CEO Chase Carey added: “We desire to commemorate our unbelievable partners in the Americas and eagerly anticipate being back with them next season when they will when again be able to adventure millions of fans worldwide.”
The coronavirus pandemic forced F1 to rip up its original 22-race calendar this year, therefore far it has verified 13 rescheduled races on the European continent (see sidebar above).
The sport is still in discussions about holding races in Asia in November, consisting of a rescheduled date for the Vietnam Grand Prix that was initially set up for April. The 2020 season will conclude in mid-December, with 2 races prepared in Bahrain and the season ending in Abu Dhabi.
