The Timbers will next play FC Cincinnati at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the knockout round of 16. LAFC will deal with the Seattle Sounders at 8 p.m. Monday in the knockout round.
LAFC (1-0-2, 5 points) took control of the match late in the first half, scoring two objectives to go up 2-1. But the Timbers (2-0-1, 7 points) drew even late in the 2nd half.
After watching an early lead develop into a halftime deficit, the Portland Timbers hung difficult and found the adjusting goal in the second half to draw LAFC 2-2 Thursday night and win Group F at the MLS is Back competition in Florida.
Jeremy Ebobisses header in the 80th minute salvaged the group stage victory for the Timbers. It was Ebobisses 3rd goal in as many matches at the competition. He came on as a substitute for Jaroslaw Niezgoda, who scored in the seventh minute of his very first MLS start to provide Portland an early 1-0 benefit.

80th minute: Goal Timbers. Jeremy Ebobisse scores. Initially, Yimmi Chara makes a free kick deep on the extreme right. Diego Valeri sends it in, and Dario Zuparic with a great header that forces a Pablo Sisniega. It results in a corner kick. After the ball bounces around in package, Jeremy Ebobisse with a stunning header finish to connect the video game at 2-2. Timbers 2, LAFC 2.
79th minute: LAFC brings in Bryce Duke to change Mark-Anthony Kaye. LAFC 2, Timbers 1.
77th minute: A great cross from Diego Valeri to Jeremy Ebobisse, who does not strike it easily and sends it simply large of the goal. That was a prime adjusting opportunity for the Timbers, but they dont capitalize. LAFC 2, Timbers 1.
69th minute: Diego Valeri comes on to replace Andy Polo, and Eryk Williamson subs in for Cristhian Paredes. LAFC 2, Timbers 1.
67th minute: Bradley Wright-Phillips comes off for LAFC, changed by Andy Najar. 2 other LAFC changes also: Mohamed El-Munir changes Diego Palacios and Jose Cifuentes changes Francisco Ginella. LAFC 2, Timbers 1.
65th minute: Cristhian Paredes is revealed the yellow card after tripping Latif Blessing. LAFC 2, Timbers 1.
60th minute: LAFCs Eduard Atuesta draws a yellow card for fouling Diego Chara. LAFC 2, Timbers 1.
58th minute: Jeremy Ebobisse begins as a Timbers substitute for Jaroslaw Niezgoda. LAFC 2, Timbers 1.
54th minute: Theres pushing and pressing after Sebastian Blanco tackles Diego Palacios. Blanco is revealed a yellow card. LAFC 2, Timbers 1.
Halftime: LAFC leads 2-1. LAFC scored both of its objectives late in the half after the Timbers took an early 1-0 lead.
The Timbers earn a corner kick, however Blancos service is headed away by LAFC. If the Timbers win or theres a draw, the Timbers would win the group and face Cincinnati, while LAFC would take on the Sounders.
40th minute: Goal LAFC. Mark-Anthony Kaye ratings on a header off an LAFC corner kick, and all of a sudden the Timbers are tracking. LAFC 2, Timbers 1.
37th minute: LAFC has 11 shots so far, compared to 3 for the Timbers. Timbers 1, LAFC 1.
36th minute: Goal LAFC. Timbers 1, LAFC 1.
29th minute: Sebastian Blanco gets space and tries a left-footed shot from the middle of package, but its blocked. Timbers 1, LAFC 0.
11th minute: The Timbers get another golden opportunity, as Marvin Loria sends it a hard cross to Jaroslaw Niezgoda, but its so powerful that Niezgoda cant direct it well with his header and its broad. Timbers 1, LAFC 0.
7th minute: Goal Timbers. Its back and forth in the early going. In the seventh minute, Sebastian Blanco finds Jaroslaw Niezgoda sprinting into the box, and he easily beats LAFC goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega for the objective. Its the Polish strikers very first goal with Portland. Timbers 1, LAFC 0.
