The image does appear to be genuine with the only abnormality to the story, provided the existing environment, is who is hosting a party right now? That aside, ideally, Microsoft will be revealing the series S, in addition to a white version, next month.
The image you see in this post is of a next-gen Xbox controller that is either for the Xbox series X, or perhaps the S. The factor this is news-worthy is that the hardware is white, while everything Microsoft has revealed to date, is black.
Because of the d-pad and there is the share button on the controller, we know that this is a next-gen controller. The other big difference, that we cant see, is that this controller utilizes USB-C instead of micro-USB.

Every when in a while you hear stories about somebody who has an “uncle” that works for a significant video gaming business who will tell their random nephew about some upcoming function for a new game. The story about the controller you see above decreases that course but there is a photograph to back up the claims.
The image was posted to Reddit with the user saying that they went to a party in Washington and apparently the daddy of the kid who hosted the party works for Microsoft. Thats the story and apparently thats a pizza box beside the controller.
