2:53 PM PT– Jonathan Isaac just attended to the media, where he was asked to discuss why he didnt kneel or wear a BLM shirt … and he states a great deal of it pertains to his spiritual beliefs.
Isaac said he thinks Black lives do matter … but does not think the kneeling presentation or BLM t-shirt “work together with supporting Black lives.”

So far, Jonathan hasnt commented on his choice to stand publicly– because the game is currently being played. When he does, well upgrade here.
Charles Barkley discussed the demonstrations on Thursday during TNTs “Inside The NBA,” saying, “The nationwide anthem suggests different things to different individuals.”
If individuals do not kneel, theyre not a bad person. Im grateful they had unity, but if we have a man who doesnt want to kneel due to the fact that the anthem implies something to him, he must not be vilified.”
The Magic released a declaration in assistance of the demonstration, saying, “The DeVos Family and the Orlando Magic company completely supports Magic gamers who have chosen to utilize their expert platform to send a powerful and peaceful message condemning bigotry, racial oppression and the unwarranted usage of violence by police, specifically against individuals of color.”

Isaac went on to explain how the mentors of Jesus Christ influenced his life and choices … and firmly insists after much thought, the kneeling demonstration wasnt right for him.
” I believe when you look around, bigotry isnt the only thing that afflicts our society, that plagues our country, that afflicts our world, and I feel like coming together on that message that we wish to get past not just racism but whatever that afflicts as a society. The response to it is the gospel.”
We believe what Isaac is trying to say is his top priority is on following the teachings of Jesus Christ, above all else … including the Black Lives Matter motion.
Orlando Magic power forward Jonathan Isaac became the first NBA player to stand throughout the national anthem following the season reboot … choosing against both kneeling and wearing a Black Lives Matter t-shirt.
The leagues refs, players and coaches– from LeBron James to Zion Williamson– have been using the anthem presentations to raise awareness as games choose back up in Orlando … a gesture that is being supported by NBA commish Adam Silver.
Isaac became the very first gamer to choose to stand as the anthem was played before the Magics match-up with the Brooklyn Nets on Friday … while the rest of the groups gamers and staffers took a knee.
Its worth keeping in mind– Silver says everyone will have the option to kneel throughout the anthem without effect … despite a league rule needing gamers to stand.
The exact same opts for anybody who wishes to stand– nobody is saying the players HAVE to kneel, either.
