The University of Oklahoma, where Dixon made All-America honors and won the Thorpe Award, announced Dixons death.

Dixon played 82 video games, with 32 starts, and made 6 career interceptions.

” Ever considering that he left OU, Rickey has been considered among the finest football gamers in school history,” OU athletic director Joe Castiglione said in a release. “His enshrinement last year into the College Football Hall of Fame is definitely recognition of that. As much as any of his achievements on the field, however, he must be kept in mind for his extreme nerve and spirit of determination.”

He played in the league for six seasons with the Bengals and Raiders. When they lost to the 49ers, Dixon was with the Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII.
