TCU coach Gary Patterson said sorry Tuesday for duplicating a racial slur when instructing a player to stop using the word in group meetings, which resulted in a group of gamers to skip practice Monday.
Horned Frogs linebacker Dylan Jordan accused Patterson on Twitter of utilizing the slur during an event Sunday in practice.
” I fulfilled with our Seniors and Leadership Council last night about how we move forward as a group, together,” Patterson stated in a statement on Twitter. “We are dedicated as people and as a program to fighting racial injustice of any kind.
” I excuse the use of a word that, in any context, is inappropriate. I have constantly encouraged our players to do much better and be better and I need to live by the very same requirements.”

Jordan, a redshirt freshman from Pittsburg, Kansas, composed on social media that Patterson teased him about posting a photo of his sweetheart on Twitter on National Girlfriend Day. Jordan stated that when he confronted Patterson about calling him out in front his teammates, the coach presumably said, “Youre a f– ing brat, Ill send you back to Pitt.”
Jordan composed on Twitter that he responded, “For what, I aint did nothin.”.
Then Patterson implicated Jordan of using the slur in the group conference space, according to Jordan. Some TCU gamers accused Jordan on Twitter of omitting the context of Pattersons usage of the word.
TCU center Kellton Hollins said on Twitter that the groups management council had actually met Patterson and informed him that utilizing the slur in any context wasnt acceptable.
In an email to TCUs trainee media, university chancellor Victor Boschini wrote that Patterson didnt utilize the slur against any gamer or group on the group.
