Ferrari and McLaren to appeal against stewards’ verdict in Racing Point case – Formula 1 RSS UK

Whether Ferrari, McLaren and Renault will be the only groups to appeal the choice is unclear. Earlier on Friday several group employers revealed surprise at the intensity of the penalty, and the fact that Racing Point were enabled to continue running the upseting parts.

With a 24-hour window with which to appeal, we may yet see more groups take part, while Racing Point themselves may choose to appeal the decision to punish them in the very first location.

” We can validate that we have simply stated our intention to appeal against todays FIA Stewards decision relating to Racing Point,” a Ferrari representative stated.

Friday early morning at Silverstone brought a decision in the long-running legend of Racing Points brake ducts, with the FIA stewards declaring the group hadnt developed them themselves, fining them greatly and subtracting them 15 world champion points. But as Friday evening rolled in, that wasnt completion of the matter, as Ferrari, McLaren and Renault became the first groups to announce an intent to appeal against that decision …

McLaren revealed they had actually chosen to do the same shortly after Ferraris statement, while Renault – the team who lodged the initial demonstration against Racing Point – then told F1.com they would be doing the very same.
