Rocksteadys last video game was 2015s Batman: Arkham Knight, a commonly well-known finale to the Batman Arkham series that the studio started in 2009. The success of Batman: Arkham Asylum led to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment acquiring Rocksteady in 2010.
The studio teased the announcement in a film poster-style tweet on Friday early morning, revealing Superman in the crosshairs of the super-villain team. More will be shared on Aug. 22, Rocksteady said.
The teaser verifies reports earlier this summertime that a Suicide Squad game remained in the works. In June, users on ResetEra found a couple of domains signed up to Rocksteady that referenced Suicide Squad; Eurogamer subsequently reported that it and a game based upon Gotham Knights, made by WB Montreal and teased repeatedly over the previous year, would be exposed at DC FanDome, which is Aug. 22.
The Suicide Squad was adapted into a film by the exact same name for the DC Cinematic Universe in 2016, starring Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Her character was spun off into a standalone movie, Birds of Prey, which premiered previously this year.
A Suicide Team video game from Batman Arkham series developer Rocksteady is in development, with a complete statement can be found in 2 weeks.
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has given that been tapped to compose and direct a Suicide Squad sequel, to premiere in August 2021. That movie will likewise be showcased at DC FanDome.
One of those URLs (SuicideSquadKillTheJusticeLeague.com) appears to be a great sign of the games premise, based on the teaser poster, which features an evil-looking Superman.
