Minnesota Vikings linebacker Cameron Smith will be forced to miss the 2020 season after learning he needs open-heart surgery to address a problem exposed through a COVID-19 test.
Smith revealed Saturday he learned of a severe heart condition after evaluating positive for the coronavirus.

Smith, 23, would have been entering his second season with the Vikings. Minnesota selected him in the 5th round of the 2019 draft out of USC.
