The Houston Astros and Oakland As had a bench-clearing brawl on Sunday after Oakland outfielder Ramon Laureano got hit two times, then jawed with Astros hitting coach Alex Cintron, leading to the melee that cant make MLB commissioner Rob Manfred extremely delighted.
However what was stated in that exchange that escalated everything?
The person who informed me this described Laureano is one of the nicest males alive. Remember Laureano knows lots of folks in the Astros company. https://t.co/KvtDJ5MZoa

He also said Laureano “is among the best men alive,” possibly indicating it might take something really insulting for him to respond that method.
Ex-Astros beat press reporter Jose de Jesus Ortiz reports that he spoke to a source who said that “Laureano charged toward Alex Cintron since Cintron discussed Laureanos mom in a bad way. In Latino culture, those are fighting words.”
As supervisor Bob Melvin concurred that it would take something “offending” to spark Laureano:
Oakland #Athletics manager Bob Melvin: “Ramon does not discuss there unless something totally offending came out of that dugout … That person must get suspended.” https://t.co/ITbhzydczf

And Astros manager Dusty Baker stated that he questioned that Cintron would say that, which he d “talk to” Cintron to see if thats what was really mentioned:
Dusty Baker says he does not understand if Alex Cintron discussed Ramón Laureanos mother while yelling at him prior to Laureano charged him. Baker states he found out the hard way how different it is when you discuss a Latinos mom.
