You dont have to look far to find someone who blames the media for canceling the college football season, and says we are attempting to cancel NFL season, too. “The media” is not canceling college football season.
Look, we all got tired and anxious during quarantine. Some people put together jigsaw puzzles.
What self-respecting journalist would not root for an infection that has eliminated 160,000 Americans? It all falls under the umbrella of being a bad person, O.K.?
I am devoted to my passion of being a bad person, and sometimes– I recognize the irony here– being a bad individual suggests being unselfish. If I can work and get paid, my coworkers can work and get paid.
FORDE: As College Football Fragments, Whats Next?
As you might assume, having a dream task for twenty years can make an individual upset and bitter. Sure, we get to take a trip to cool places, get paid to cover occasions that others pay huge rates to participate in, talk and write intriguing stories to fascinating individuals, but … where was I once again? Oh yes. Angry and bitter,
There is no cheering in journalism box. As I have frequently wondered: What if there were no press boxes? What if we all just sat at home, without any location to go, absolutely nothing to do, no money to make, no touchdowns to view, no national anthem to despise with every bit of our freedom-hating existence, and no marching bands in ideal formation, playing some of the most inspiring music in the world?
Would not that be excellent?

I have not yet experienced the happiness of a fall Saturday with no college football. For now, I feel truly excellent about canceling the sport.
Obviously, not everybody is delighted with what I have actually accomplished. As my colleague Ross Dellenger reported, Sen. Ben Sasse of Nebraska wrote a letter to Big Ten presidents inquiring not to cancel the college football season.
I definitely appreciate Sen. Sasse for taking the controversial position in Nebraska of being in favor of college football. Sen. Sasse composed that a lot of college presidents independently concur with him, and he knows this since that is what they say “when the cameras arent rolling,” and …
Whoa, whoa, whoa!
Great try, Senator. Those people on Team Virus constantly believed we would victory. Naturally, if just rooting for something was all it took, the Browns would have won 6 Super Bowls by now. Rooting for the infection, while certainly a rocking great time, was never going to cancel college football by itself.
A magician does not expose his tricks, a coach does not share all his plays, and a chef does not share all his dishes, other than sometimes, like when the chef publishes a cookbook or has a TV cooking program or something, but work with me here. Anyway: A reporter does not explain how he personally got a sport canceled.
I will say that college football is constructed on competitions. Sure, USC will lose millions of dollars and push away a lot of fans and recruits with this decision, however as I explained to the USC administration: So will UCLA! Completely worth it!
Next thing I knew, the Pac-12 canceled it season. The Big Ten had actually currently canceled its season.
How do I feel now? Empty, soulless, and never ever much better. When no one wins the lotto, it even goes beyond the happiness I feel.
Unfortunately, my work is not completed. The Big 12 just launched its brand-new schedule, and the SEC prepares to move forward with its season. I still think, in the bottom of the place where my heart would be if I had one, that I can get those leagues to cancel their seasons, too. I feel good about my possibilities, and I think it will not hurt anything to inform you the genuine trick to my success.
I just tell people not to use a mask. Functions every time.
