Facebook begins merging Instagram and Messenger chats in new update – The Verge

Facebook got Instagram for $1 billion in 2012, and bought WhatsApp in 2014 for $19 billion. The business did not immediately reply to a request for remark Friday night.

The regular DM icon in the top right of Instagram is changed by the Facebook Messenger logo once you strike update.
