On Sunday, well see positions one through 9 settled. Heres what we can get out of the beginning grid so far.
The Andretti team absolutely dominated in qualifying, with four of its six drivers securing the leading four positions on their very first certifying attempts. Chevrolet vehicles– including, remarkably, the historically dominant Team Penske– struggled more than their Honda counterparts, with numerous of the Indy 500s previous champions not able to pull themselves out of the 20s.

Tomorrow, the 9 fastest motorists from Saturdays session will hit the track from 3-5pm Eastern to identify their starting lineup. Heres the qualifying order, which is determined by Saturdays speeds (from slowest to fastest):.
Takuma Sato – 230.792 mph2. James Hinchcliffe – 231.195 mph7. Marco Andretti – 231.351 miles per hour.
