NORMAN, Okla.– Oklahoma redshirt junior running back Kennedy Brooks has pulled out of the 2020 football season.
Brooks notified Sooners coach Lincoln Riley of his decision Sunday afternoon, according to sources near to the program who asked not to be identified because Brooks has yet to make his choice public.
Brooks, from Mansfield, Texas, has actually rushed for 2,067 yards and 18 touchdowns in the previous two seasons integrated. He led the Sooners in rushing yardage in 2018 and was 2nd last season behind quarterback Jalen Hurts.
In 2018, Brooks 8.9 lawns per rush ranked 3rd nationally. Last season, he led the Big 12 because category and finished ninth nationally. Brooks briefly considered getting in the 2020 NFL Draft in January but selected to come back.
During a Saturday Zoom press conference, Riley said that no Sooners had actually yet decided to opt out, but he knew that could change.
