The very first 2 days of padded practice at the Cleveland Browns training school did not go the way that linebacker Mack Wilson would have wanted, capped by a knee injury on Tuesday.
The previous Alabama standout sustained the injury throughout seven-on-seven drills while breaking up a pass planned for pass receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones. After being taken a look at by medical-staff members, Wilson was carted to the Browns practice center.
Because of a deal with by Wilson on Monday, Wilsons demotion came after starting running back Nick Chubb landed in the concussion protocol.
Wilson is Clevelands leading returning tackler, he was working with the second-team defense on Tuesday after being replaced by former Oxford High School standout Tae Davis on the first group.
Wilson suffered a “significantly hyperextended left knee,” Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com reported. The injury might require season-ending surgical treatment, however cleveland.com reported the Browns will seek another medical viewpoint before picking surgical treatment.

Prior to Tuesdays practice, Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski stated he preferred to “keep those discussions internal” when asked what he said to Wilson about tackling Chubb but concurred it was “reasonable” to state he was unhappy with the play.
