The video sadly demonstrates how badly I was dealt with by a law enforcement officer last year in the midst of my group, the Toronto Raptors, winning its very first world championship. Regrettably, I was advised in that minute that regardless of all of my tough work and success, there are some people, including those who are expected to protect us, who will constantly and just see me as something that is unworthy of considerate engagement.
And thats why its essential for everybody to keep demanding justice. Justice for George. Justice for Breonna. Justice for Elijah. Justice for far too lots of Black lives that mattered. And justice for Black people around the world, who need our voice and our empathy to save their lives.
Thank you to everyone who has actually revealed frustration and concern regarding the video that was recently launched. My household and I are deeply grateful for your care and consideration.
What saddens me most about this experience is that the only reason why I am getting the justice I deserve in this moment is since of my success. Because Im the President of a NBA team, I had access to resources that guaranteed I might require and battle for my justice.
