Panthers 2020 training camp: 6 takeaways from Saturdays scrimmage – Panthers Wire

Here are 6 takeaways from the media on-hand.

The Carolina Panthers practiced inside Bank of America Arena today and played their first scrimmage of training school.

Teddy Bridgewaters strong start

Things can always alter when the live video games begin. Now, this looks and sounds a lot like its Teddy Bridgewaters group.

The Riot Report states he started 7/7, ended up 9/13 for 159 lawns and two touchdowns and had another erased by a charge.

Except for Teddy Bridgewater.

Panthers just had a two hour skirmish inside BoA Stadium (thread).
Bridgewater started 9/13 for 159 yds and 2 TDs (Manhertz & & CMC) against a range of defenses (all QBs did reps vs both beginners & & backups).
Last drill had Mike Davis TD reception (from Teddy) eliminated by holding.

Strong numbers, but they ought to be taken with an unhealthy dose of salt as Bridgewater dealt with backups as well as starters. Some analysts are forecasting the Panthers will have the NFLs worst defense this year, so chances are they are going to make a lot of quarterbacks look great.

There probably will not be numerous highlights coming out of this practice due to limitations on what reporters are permitted to reveal this year. We will have to settle for a box score for now. For what its worth, Bridgewater had a great day based on the raw stats.

That said, this is another positive indication for Bridgewater, who has actually done whatever right so far– consisting of staying late to get additional reps in. He continued that trend today.
