Fortnite revealed that it’s doing a grand Marvel crossover for Chapter 2, Season 4, which begins in under a week. We already have a half dozen Marvel skins in the game at this point, but we’re about to at least double that with an all-Marvel battle pass, it seems.
Though we may already know what more than half of the skins are at this point, and nothing substantial has even been datamined yet.
Battle passes have seven skins and an eighth secret skin tied to it. Here are five skins I believe we will get in the battle pass this time around:
Thor – This is the skin that has been teased by Epic directly, both in the Marvel announcement itself (Thor is the character in the letters, the emojis are clearly a Thor reference) but previously the Bifrost was seen in the Captain America trailer. This one is a guarantee.
Wolverine – This is from HypeX, who leaked that we were having a Marvel season early, and his claws will be a mining tool.
Groot – From HypeX.
Storm – From Tabor Hill:
Iron Man – Donald Mustard changed his Twitter header image to be a comic panel frame featuring Iron Man.
Doctor Doom – The other side of the same comic panel frame has Doctor Doom.
Galactus – Some players caught a glimpse of an in-game comic book page which has Thor and also Galactus on it. In the sound files, there’s audio that looks like Galactus when you put it through a spectrograph. Galactus is coming, though it remains to be seen whether he might appear for an LTM or event like Thanos, who was not an actual skin we could buy, or if he is in the battle pass at Tier 100 or something.
So that’s seven. I would probably bet on another female hero given that 6 of those 7 are men. Who else could we see if that’s the case? She-Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Kamala Khan, Captain Marvel, Gamora, Jean Grey, Rogue would be my top picks. Probably not Sue Storm as being invisible in a Fortnite game would be a little OP.
What catches my eye about these picks are that they are from all over the Marvel universe, not just the MCU. Wolverine is essentially on ice after his Fox movies, as is Storm from X-Men. Doctor Doom and Galactus are not a part of the MCU at this point, though rumor has it Galactus will be the next Thanos in the upcoming phase. But yeah, pretty wild that Fortnite is the place where all of these different characters are coming together first, besides the comics, of course.
Donald Mustard also warns that this is the culmination of something big, that the Marvel storyline has a huge impact on the overall tale of Fortnite in general:
So we’ll see how that plays out. DC season next time? I would not be shocked, at this rate.
