Christopher Cantwell (you know, the great one who co-created Halt and Catch Fire) is taking over as the ongoing Iron Man writer in September where, according to Marvel, he will “introduce a new age” of Tony Stark. The last decade has seen some of comics most significant writers breaking Tony down and seeing how he ticks. From Matt Fraction doing that rather actually to Kieron Gillens Stark expedition, to Brian Michael Bendiss search about what it indicates to be Iron Man by having multiple different characters in numerous different titles handle the mantle, identity crises seem to be a popular go-to with Tony Stark. Now, Cantwell signs up with the ranks of writers that have taken a deep dive into the mind of Marvels a lot of iconic genius.

” Hes a male who believes hes a god and a god who wants to be a male. The book actually starts with Tony taking a look at himself: Who am I really? Who is Iron Man?
Significantly, the Iron Man fit is getting a redesign by legendary comics painter Alex Ross. Cantwell stated, of Rosss contribution to the run:.
” When it pertains to working with somebody like Alex, I suggest, thats someone who as a Spider-Man fan when I was a kid, and then I saw his work in Marvels [and I] still remember the gloss film of Spider-Mans costumed eye and how extraordinary that was. To have him unexpectedly action in, design the armor, and do our cover, its a dream come true.”.
The cover in question, imagined above, is a wraparound performed in Alex Rosss hallmark, hyper-detailed, painterly style.
