Colorado Rockies-Arizona Diamondbacks game produces play that has to be seen to be believed – USA TODAY

A baseball season like weve never ever seen before produced a play that youve most likely never ever seen.
It took place Monday night in the fifth inning of the Colorado Rockies 3-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field.
The Dbacks Ketel Marte popped out to left field, where the Rockies Raimel Tapia captured the ball and tossed the ball to very first baseman Daniel Murphy as Kole Calhoun scrambled to return to the bag. The ball got away from Murphy and Calhoun took off for 2nd base. Other than, Rockies catcher Tony Wolters was right on the spot, supporting the play and had Calhoun in a bad spot..
On Wolters toss to second base, Calhoun stuck his head in the method of the throw and the ball ricocheted off his batting helmet. Calhoun didnt get away with the shenanigans and was called out. Inning over.
Its a play that needs to be seen to be believed.
LOL.
After the game, Rockies supervisor Bud Black stated Calhouns play reminded him of Reggie Jackson turning his hip to deflect a throw in the 1978 World Series.
Heres that infamous play by Jackson:.
While the Rockies snapped a seven-game losing streak with Monday nights win, the Diamondbacks now have actually lost six directly.
