” Starting September 3, we will return to our basic policies for late payments and data speeds,” Google wrote in an assistance short article. “Our grace period for late payments will go back to 3 days from the missed billing date. Complete speed data limits will return to 15GB for Flexible and 22GB for Unlimited start with your very first billing cycle on or after Sept 3.”
Google Fi formerly raised regular monthly high-speed data allowances for all consumers to 30GB, starting with billing cycles on and after April 1st. The business also waved late charges on Device Protection insurance payments, and permitted customers to buy additional high-speed information for $10 per GB.
Many cell providers worldwide briefly boosted speeds, forgave late charges, and/or postponed payments as countless individuals lost their tasks at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the worldwide economy hasnt quite recuperated yet, and some U.S. states have unemployment rates as high as 16%, Google Fi announced it is returning to pre-COVID payment due dates and data limitations.
While Google Fi isnt the only carrier to end policies presented at the start of the international pandemic, its still bad news for any of its customers who dont yet have access to a stable earnings. Google states that consumers with “COVID-19 related monetary hardship” can call support, but theres no guarantee they will be given exceptions.
