The Last Campfire, Hello Games’ newest title, launches Aug. 27 – Polygon

Exposed at the end of 2018, the video game stays mysterious. A look throughout Marchs Nintendo Indie World stream illustrated a surreal fantasy world setting, where platform puzzle-solving appeared to be the core gameplay.

The Last Campfire, the next video game from No Guys Sky designer Hello Games, launches on Thursday, Aug. 27. It will be offered on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Apple Arcade.

Narratively, gamers are asked to check out the world as an adorable, beanbag-looking character, discover the eponymous last campfire, and light it. Hey there Games provided three screenshots alongside a short statement of the video games launch date on Wednesday.

The Last Campfires PC version is exclusive to the Epic Games Store.

In 2018, Sean Murray, Hello Games co-founder, discussed that The Last Campfire is the story of “a lost ember trapped in a confusing location, looking for significance and a way home.” Hi Games Chris Symonds and Steven Burgess led its advancement; the pair were also behind Frontier Developments LostWinds, released in 2008 on Nintendo Wii.
