There are no information about the terms of the settlement, but Tfue and FaZe are over.
Tfue at first taken legal action against FaZe in May 2019, when he was the No. 1 Fortnite streamer on the planet. He had actually been playing under the FaZe banner for a year, but he wanted out of his agreement, arguing that it was “grossly oppressive, difficult, and one-sided,” specifically considering he was simply 20 years old when he signed it. Tfue declared FaZe unlawfully served as a talent firm, disallowed him from signing sponsorship offers, and had the ability to collect up to 80 percent of the revenue he earned beyond the company.
FaZe denied the claims and said it had actually made just $60,000 from its partnership with Tfue. FaZe launched Tfue from his agreement 2 days after the claim was submitted (but today its official that theyre done and we still called it), and countersued him in New York for failure to pay out commissions, attempting to poach his previous colleagues and taking legal action against in the wrong forum.
Tfues California suit was dismissed in July, and FaZes was set for trial in New York this October.
Amid the previous years legal proceedings, Tfue captured shit for using a racial slur while live– not for the very first time– and news broke that he would no longer be streaming with his long time Fortnite crew, Dennis “cloakzy” Lepore and Thomas “72hrs” Mulligan. Tfue stopped streaming in September, saying he felt caught in an unfavorable mental crawlspace. He returned to Twitch less than three weeks later.
