Report – Brewers to discuss whether to play Wednesdays game vs. Reds – ESPN

The Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds wont play their video game Wednesday night at Miller Park in protest of the cops shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin.
” The players from the Brewers and Reds have decided to not play tonights baseball video game,” players from both groups said in a shared declaration. “With our neighborhood and our nation in such pain, we wished to draw as much attention to the concerns that truly matter, specifically racial oppression and systemic oppression.”
The Seattle Mariners will not play tonights video game against the San Diego Padres after Mariners gamers agreed to postpone it. The Mariners have the most Black gamers of any team in MLB and second baseman Dee Gordon shared his ideas on the concern on Twitter.

Rather of watching us, we hope people will concentrate on the things more crucial than sports that are taking place.

” Its more than sports,” Hader stated.

The Brewers and Reds video game was postponed after the Brewers met following the post ponement earlier in the day of three NBA championship game. Players from the Milwaukee Bucks refused to take the floor in demonstration of the shooting.
Blake, a Black guy, was shot at least seven times, obviously in the back, by police on Sunday in Kenosha, Wisconsin, as he attempted to enter the drivers side door of his car with three of his kids inside. Video of the shooting was distributed on social media.
Makers star reliever Josh Hader informed press reporters prior to the conference that the Bucks decision was “an enormous stand,” MLB.com reported.
” Its more than sports,” Hader said. “This is a time where we need to really not remain peaceful and [to] empower our voices.”
A household lawyer said Tuesday that Blake is paralyzed and it would “take a wonder” for him to walk again.
