Another week, another brand-new Alabama football dedication, this time in-state defensive tackle Tim Keenan signing up with the fold. The Birmingham (Ala.) Ramsay standout promised to the Crimson Tide on Saturday morning over Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, and UAB. Keenan is the 4th protective lineman to sign up with the class, signing up with forces with fellow in-stater Anquin Barnes, together with luxury defensive deal with Damon Payne and four-star protective end Monkell Goodwine.
” They state Bama is like an organization, but its family, too,” Keenan informed BamaOnLine earlier this year. “Im genuine familiar with Alabama going up there so much.
The familiarity with the program cant go downplayed when it comes to what went into protecting his commitment. Keenan has been on school in Tuscaloosa approximately 3 dozen times throughout the recruiting process.
His area employer Karl Scott, in addition to protective line coach Freddie Roach, played huge roles in Keenan feeling comfy with his choice. As did Nick Saban obviously.
” They keep informing me, You know youre going to come here basically,” Keenan stated earlier this summer season laughing. “But its constantly good when I talk with them. They inform me Im high up on their list. Ive talked to Coach Saban 4 times throughout this whole pandemic. Hes simply looking into me, making sure everything is going well, whats going on with the practices, and whats going to occur in the future, things like that.
” Me and Coach Roach we go back to youth camp, and he was there with Coach (Bo) Davis. Me and Coach Roach, we go back.”
Keenan joins an excellent in-state class thus far the UA personnel has put together. Other Tide promises that call the Yellowhammer State home consist of four-star linebackers Deontae Lawson and Ian Jackson, along with the abovementioned Barnes.
At 6-foot-2, 330 pounds, Keenan is ranked the No. 22 defensive tackle and the No. 362 general gamer in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Last season Keenan amassed 43 tackles, consisting of 21 tackles for a loss and eight sacks..
Here is 247Sports assessment of Keenan, through nationwide director of scouting Barton Simmons:.
” Wide, stout defensive tackle with limited height and length. Appears to play with excellent effort for a bigger lineman. Presently an early down protective lineman at the Power Five level that requires college advancement to tap into NFL upside.”.
