Auburn, which canceled multiple football practices last week, will be without 16 gamers due to COVID-19 issues when it resumes practice on Tuesday.
Coach Gus Malzahn told reporters on Sunday night that the team currently has nine gamers who have tested positive for the coronavirus and 7 others who are thought about high risk.
Malzahn stated the Tigers have had “really couple of” players who have actually exhibited “significant signs.”
” Were discovering as we go here,” he said of handling the coronavirus as a team. “Every week and every day is an obstacle.”

Malzahn stated the team didnt scrimmage on Saturday since players needed the weekend off after the authorities shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin, previously in the week.
Without entering into specifics, Malzahn said two position groups were particularly affected by COVID-19 screening, to the point that the personnel didnt feel comfy going through complete practices.
Auburn protocols need a minimum of 17 days prior to a player can return from a favorable COVID-19 test, including a seven-day reacclimation and a 10-day quarantine duration before being completely cleared.
With four weeks remaining up until the week the season is set up to start, Malzahn stated theres a sense of urgency.
“But the bottom line is the health and security of our players,” he said.
Malzahn, who stressed the ability to adapt on the fly this season, was asked what the teams objectives were this week.
“To practice,” he said matter-of-factly.
Auburn is arranged to open the season on Sept. 26 at home versus Kentucky.
