LAS VEGAS– Mixed Martial Arts Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Fridays official UFC on ESPN+ 35 fighter weigh-ins, where everyone that went to the scale made weight without issue.
Nevertheless, Matt Schnell (14-5 MMA, 4-3 UFC) was not as lucky, suffering medical problems during his weight cut and seeing his contest with Tyson Nam (19-11-1 MMA, 1-2 UFC) scratched without either fighter making it to the scale.
Amongst those weighing in were Michelle Waterson (17-8 MMA, 5-4 UFC) and Angela Hill (12-8 MMA, 7-8 UFC), who meet in the femaless strawweight primary event, and Ottman Azaitar (12-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Khama Worthy (16-6 MMA, 2-0 UFC), who fight in the light-weight co-feature.
All four made weight without problem.
The weigh-ins happened at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The same location hosts Saturdays card, which streams on ESPN+.
The most unforgettable moment of the weigh-ins was provided by Jalin Turner (9-5 MMA, 2-2 UFC), called “The Tarantula,” who brought a live spider with him to the scale ahead of a clash with Brok Weaver ( 15-5 MMA, 1-1 UFC).
