PS5 reveal event announced: PlayStation 5 Showcase happens on Sept. 16 – Polygon

More particularly, in a PlayStation Blog post, the business says it prepares to reveal “video games concerning PS5 at launch (and beyond!)” during Wednesdays livestream. The PlayStation 5 Showcase will stream on PlayStations Twitch and YouTube channels at 4 p.m. EDT/1 p.m. PDT on Sept. 16, and will run roughly 40 minutes.

PlayStation fans are enthusiastic that the event talks about more than just upcoming PS5 games; Sony Interactive Entertainment has not yet revealed the PS5s launch date or the rate for its next-generation hardware, with mere months to precede the console is expected to be launched. Sonys next-gen competitor, Microsoft, exposed the release date and price of its next-gen Xbox systems, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, on Wednesday.

Sony held its very first major PlayStation 5 event in June, where the company exposed the design of the next-gen PlayStation, as well as some of the games coming to PS5: Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a remake of Demons Souls, Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet & & Clank: Rift Apart, Resident Evil Village, and Horizon Forbidden West.

Sony will expose new information about the PlayStation 5 in a livestream on Wednesday, Sept. 16. Sonys PlayStation 5 Showcase guarantees “updates on the current titles from Worldwide Studios and our first-rate development partners.”

PS5 is expected to launch sometime during holiday 2020.
