Developers frustrated at just one day’s notice of iOS, iPadOS and watchOS rollout – 9to5Mac

There werent too numerous surprises in yesterdays occasion, however there was one big one– and it was one which left designers irritated. Apple provided just one days notification of the official rollout of iOS 14, iPadOS 14 and watchOS 7. This contrasts with the usual week approximately designers get to prepare.

Not only did this leave them scrabbling to get updated versions of their apps finished, but some said that Apples developer tools were also not ready for the launch …

Mashable and TNW each rounded up some tweets from designers annoyed at both the short notification and Apples own lack of readiness.

Many developers like to take advantage of brand-new features as quickly as they are readily available, as that can substantially enhance interest in their apps. Others might be required to update as brand-new OS variations can sometimes trigger things to break.

” I do not get it? They normally give us a week? What are they doing?!”.
” Yeah, this caught me by surprise. User experience isnt going to be great for any apps that/ need/ an update.”.
” Apple actually dislikes designers this year.”.
” Now all of us know how the FaceTime group shouldve felt when Steve said it was going to be an open requirement.”.

A big WTF at Apple dropping iOS 14 tomorrow without offering designers any notice, or final tools to submit their apps.
