Raleigh, N.C.– North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill both said Friday that parents of players will be allowed to attend upcoming football games regardless of statewide COVID-19 limitations.
Annabelle Myers, assistant athletics director for interactions at N.C. State, said moms and dads will be permitted at Saturdays video game against Wake Forest. The school is working on requirements and will launch more information soon.
Jeremy Sharpe, director of UNC football communications, stated parents of gamers at UNC will likewise have the ability to participate in video games, although Saturdays game is canceled due to the fact that the Charlotte 49ers said a lot of players there are quarantined.
Relative of N.C. State gamers sent out a petition of almost 100 signatures to Gov. Roy Cooper on Thursday requesting for an exemption to the states mass gathering guidelines, which limit outside gatherings to 50 people.
The petition asserts that less than 500 relative would participate in the video game which Carter-Finley Stadium has enough space for them to social distance. The stadium can seat more than 50,000 fans.
