The Yankees and Red Sox are satisfying for the last time this season, so obviously they had to provide an extra-long, additional inning video game right off the bat. The Bombers handled to dominate regardless of falling into a 4-0 hole early and blowing an extra inning lead in the 11th before getting and holding onto a 6-5 lead in the 12th. Lets solve into the highlights.
Winners of the Game
The Yankees had several gamers step up tonight. DJ LeMahieu provided the game-winning hit, a run-scoring double down the line in right to knock in Gio Urshela. Luke Voit got the first run in bonus by knocking a single down the line in left an inning prior to that, and Giancarlo Stanton got the team a run more detailed with an RBI double in the 8th.
Sánchez got the return started in the seventh, stepping up to the plate with the bases filled. Sánchez ripped a ball into best field, one-hopping into the stands for a ground-rule double that probably saved the Red Sox another run.
Loser of the Game
He began the night off strong, striking out the side in the first inning and getting a nice double-play to end the 2nd, however problem brewed in the 4th. Cristian Arroyo squashed a three-run home run off of Montgomery that put the Sox ahead, and an inning later on Christian Vasquez chased him out of the video game with an RBI double.
