Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans believe that the game’s next DLC fighter could be revealed as early as 4th October thanks to a newly-spotted advertisement.
Twitter user @OnuaUlt has shared a photograph of a current advertisement seen in a Japanese 7-Eleven store. The advert is for Smash Ultimate’s Fighters Pass Vol. 2, showing the already-playable Min Min and a series of blank spaces, and is due to be taken down – or expire – on 4th October.
So why is this important? Because this seems to be following a very familiar pattern of DLC fighter launches gone by.
Previous Smash advertisements spotted at 7-Eleven in Japan, also featuring expiry dates, have appeared and then been taken down as a new fighter becomes available. In the cases of both Banjo-Kazooie and Hero, for example, the characters became playable by the time similar ads were due to be removed.
If the trend continues, this means that the next Smash fighter might be scheduled to be announced – and will possibly launch – by 4th October, making the new advertisement outdated.
It certainly feels like we must be getting closer to the next fighter’s reveal (Min Min was revealed and launched back in June), but nothing is confirmed just yet. If a new reveal is officially teased by Nintendo, we’ll be sure to let you know.
