The relocation comes after a pricey loss to the Chicago Bears which saw both Saquon Barkley and Sterling Shepard decrease due to injury.
Dan Duggan of The Athletic is reporting that the New york city Giants are signing CB Ryan Lewis from their practice team to their 53-man lineup.
The Giants are signing CB Ryan Lewis to their active roster, per source. Lewis had been on the practice squad.– Dan Duggan (@DDuggan21) September 22, 2020
The move isnt main yet, since this writing, and we dont understand the matching roster move. Its most likely that this move is to fill the hole produced by Barkleys season-ending injury, but given the rules relating to the hurt reserve this year, Sterling Shepard could well wind up there as well.
The Giants initially tried to declare Lewis off of waivers from the Dolphins at the start of training school, but lost to the Washington Football Team who have a greater top priority. New York was lastly able to get him when he was waived by Washington throughout final cutdowns and he was signed to the Giants practice team on September 9th.

The Giants have been shuffling their cornerback position as they search for a constant answer opposite James Bradberry. Lewis spent 8 games in 2019 with the Miami Dolphins under Patrick Graham and he brings solid size (6-foot-1, 195 pounds) to the position.
