Bengals vs. Eagles Injury Report: Geno Atkins, Mike Daniels remain out – Cincy Jungle

The NFL gods where not feeling merciful this past Sunday as numerous star players from around the league fell victim to injury.

Considering the Bengals played on a short week, they should feel lucky they aren’t more battered than they already are.

But even if they played on Sunday instead of Thursday, it doesn’t seem like Geno Atkins (shoulder) or Mike Daniels (groin) would’ve been able to play. The two defensive tackles did not to practice on Wednesday, and head coach Zac Taylor said during his press conference that they are considered day-to-day.

Joining Atkins and Daniels on the DNP list is Carlos Dunlap, who got a rest day and is not dealing with an injury. Brandon Wilson was out for personal reasons as well.

On the bright side, Shawn Williams (calf) was able to practice for the first time in over a month. The veteran safety was carted off the team’s practice field during a training camp practice on August 18th. Williams was limited on Wednesday, and it’s a good sign that he may make his season debut this week.

Christian Covington (arm) and Logan Wilson (thumb) were both listed on the report but went full despite their respective ailments.

The Philadelphia Eagles have seen better days. In addition to being the worst team in the league according to Football Outsiders’ DVOA metric, seven of their players did not practice on Wednesday, including five starters. DT Fletcher Cox (abdomen) is the most notable name on the list to go with WR Alshon Jeffery (foot) and rookie WR Jalen Reagor (thumb), whom the Eagles will place on the Reserve/Injured list shortly.

WR Desean Jackson and DT Malik Jackson were given rest days. C Jason Kelce and LT Jason Peters were given half days considering they were limited. RT Lane Johnson played last week despite dealing with an ankle injury and he was limited today because of it.
