Mike Davis, RB, Panthers
If the Panthers begin 0-6, are they truly going to rush Christian McCaffrey back? Theres a chance CMC never returns to 100% this year– I can see them shutting him down late in the season with their sights set on quarterback possibility Trevor Lawrence.
Davis is the most safe bet for RB2 production for four to 6 weeks. If Im 0-2 in a league, Im targeting Davis.
Devonta Freeman, RB, Giants
If Im 2-0, hes the running back I would target.
The Giants formally consented to terms with Freeman, who was likely brought in to be the lead back. Dion Lewis might be the much better Week 3 play while Freeman gets up to speed on this offense, however from Week 4 on, this might be Freemans backfield– he must have RB2/3 worth through the rest of the season.
