Still no release date for him yet
While a large chunk of us here would probably love for Yu Yu Hakusho to come back in the form of a traditional fighting game right about now, we’ll have to accept that Shonen Jump crossovers are probably the best we’re going to get for the time being.
After revealing the three-eyed demon for the first time earlier this month, Bandai Namco released Hiei’s gameplay trailer for Jump Force during Tokyo Game Show Online 2020.
Like most Bamco-related fighter trailers in recent years, the first glimpse at Hiei is rather brief, but it does give us a lot of insight as to how he’ll play.
While he still has his sword, Hiei primarily seems to fight hand-to-hand with his ultimate attack of course showing up as the Dragon of the Darkness Flame from the iconic Dark Tournament arc.
He just won’t be transforming into a giant green monster like his first battle against Yusuke it seems.

Unfortunately for us who first watched the anime on Adult Swim / Cartoon Network, Jump Force never received an English dub, but of course Hiei still sounds great in his original Japanese form.
The team Urameshi fighter will be the third DLC character to join Jump Force Season 2 after My Hero Academia’s Shoto Todoroki and Hunter x Hunter’s Meruem.
He’ll also join two of his fellow showmates with Yusuke and Younger Toguro already part of the game’s base roster.
No release date has been given for Hiei and Meruem yet though they’re both scheduled to launch sometime this fall on PS4, Xbox One and PC before hitting the Nintendo Switch next year.
