We got another appearance at Pokemon Sword and Shields second DLC expansion, The Crown Tundra, during todays Pokemon livestream. Along with revealing the DLCs release date, the stream gave us our first appearance at another brand-new regional variant: Galarian Slowking.
Similar To Galarian Slowbro, which was presented in the previous Isle of Armor DLC, Galarian Slowking is a dual Poison/Psychic type. Standard Slowpoke can develop into either Slowbro or Slowking, and it appears that remains the case for these Galarian versions. The Pokemon Company didnt yet detail how to develop the Pokemon, it notes on the video games main site that the advancement is triggered when “a Shellder bite set off a reaction in between the chemicals secreted by Galarian Slowpokes brain and the spices inside its body.”
Galarian SlowkingGalarian Slowking is categorized as the Hexpert Pokemon, and its stated they communicate with each other by chanting strange incantations. This ties into its new signature relocation, Eerie Spell, a Psychic-type attack that dispense damage and decreases 3 PP from the last move the opposing Pokemon utilized.
Galarian Slowking also has an unique Ability called Curious Medicine. When this Pokemon gets in the field, it immediately resets its allys stat changes.
Its not yet clear how to get Galarian Slowking in Sword and Shield, youll initially need to get a Galarian Slowpoke; these can be encountered in the wild around the Isle of Armor. As previously discussed, you can also develop Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro, which has its own distinct Ability– Quick Draw– and an unique signature relocation called Shell Side Arm. The DLC takes players to the eponymous Crown Tundra, where players will be able to check out Pokemon dens, capture returning Legendaries, and get practical brand-new items like the Ability Patch. Pokemon Go compatibility is also coming to Pokemon Home by the end of the year.
