Other than we cant do that any longer, and neither can a variety of mad Gmail users weve spotted. The choice has up and vanished.
@gmail Hey, how come theres no longer an option to “Select all discussions” to mark thousands as read at the same time?
Im typing “is: unread” + picking the “All” check box, however instead of “Select all conversations” at the top of my screen, it states “No results found” …? pic.twitter.com/dercwGE5OE— Laura McQuillan (@mcquillanator) September 30, 2020
If youre not the inbox no type– and Im certainly not– you may in some cases depend on Gmails “Select all conversations that match this search” option to check out, archive, or delete hundreds or thousands of messages at when.
extraordinary that the “Select all discussions that match this search” alternative has actually been eliminated from @gmail. what on earth are they thinking??? actions can now be carried out just on the max # of messages per page. ridiculous! please fix ASAP @Google– rick tait (@rickt) October 1, 2020 Instead, were seeing a nav bar with a handful of shortcut buttons when we browse, like this:

Google didnt respond to our ask for remark, so were not yet sure if were looking at an official new UI overhaul for Gmail, a fast experiment, or perhaps even a bug. A Gmail aid thread from six days back has so far gone unanswered.
Got it. Lets attempt these steps to mark all e-mails as checked out in Gmail: Go to https://t.co/bXXJf3dEH5 on your Computer > > Search for messages > > Select all > > Select all discussions that match this search > > Mark as read. Keep us published.– Gmail (@gmail) October 1, 2020
It does appear that Googles own Gmail support team was unaware of a modification; on at least a couple celebrations, theyve been giving readers guidelines that no longer work.
