Well, I told you this skin was coming, and sure enough, here we are. Fortnite has announced today not only a new Daredevil skin as part of its ongoing, season-long collaboration with Marvel, but that you can actually win it early, before others will have a chance to pay for it in the store.
This Wednesday, October 14, there is a Marvel Knockout Cup beginning where you will compete in the Marvel Knockout mode in order to win. Be a top team in your region and you will get early access to the Daredevil skin for free, and you will be able to continue competing for the real top prize, $1 million, the result of a final tournament after four different cups, that will take place November 21.
Yes, that’s right, four cups. And this is Cup 1: The Daredevil Cup. What does that imply? Three more cups based on Marvel characters, and more skins you can win, or buy in the store later on. We have seen a bunch of Fortnite/Marvel crossover art/comics to date, and previously have been able to predict the “missing” skins from this season, including Daredevil which has now shown up here.

So the options for the three missing skins based on what we know are:
- Ghost Rider
- Captain Marvel
- Venom
- Black Panther
That’s four skins and only three cups left. My guess is that given Chadwick Boseman’s death, Black Panther will not be one of the tournament skins, and if it is sold in the store, they might do something like have proceeds for it go to charity. Or perhaps Black Panther is saved after the cups and has something to do with the final, huge tournament for $1 million.
So that leaves the Ghost Rider Cup, Captain Marvel Cup and Venom Cup as the most likely options, complete with skins to win or later, coming to the store. There are no other heroes or villains featured in the crossover art, so this may end up being the full selection for the season. Which I mean, it’s quite a lot. Eight battle pass skins plus ones that have hit the store already like Blade and Silver Surfer.
We will likely learn about the other cups once this one happens on October 14. Start training in Marvel modes to learn how to use all those superpowers, and tune in on the day of for your shot at winning the skin and going further into the tournament.
