Kraft Macaroni & Cheese has been a staple of childhood cuisine and pantries across North America for more than 80 years. Since it first hit the shelves in 1937, this quick, shelf-stable, cheap, bright orange comfort food has fed families during the Great Depression, drunk dorm-dwelling college students, and, of course, kids (who sometimes don’t want to eat much else). That’s all to say that it has earned its place in our collective heart.
In fact, nostalgia for the dish keeps people turning to the blue box as adults, even when there’s not a financial or kid-related reason to eat it. Is it the best mac and cheese you’ll ever eat? We hope not. But it’s probably the most familiar.
In these uncertain times, we’ve never needed something comforting and familiar more. And it just so happens that Kraft will be giving away boxes of their iconic dinner all weekend. Here’s how to snag yours.
How to get a free box of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese
Technically, Kraft is marketing this giveaway as a chance to send someone you know some comfort in the form of a box of their macaroni and cheese—but what if you’re the person in need of comfort? That has to count, too.

The key here is acting fast: it appears as though there will only be a certain number of free boxes available each day, though it’s unclear as to how many. (According to the rules on the Kraft site, it’s 400 boxes per day, but the company’s press release says that 7,000 boxes are up for grabs.) Either way, don’t wait until the last minute.
For recipients in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Philadelphia, their mac and cheese will arrive via “on-demand delivery,” according to a statement from Kraft. Everyone else will get a coupon in the mail redeemable at their local grocery store.
To claim your mac and cheese, either visit this website, or respond to @kraftmacncheese on Twitter using the hashtag #SendNoods. The offer started at 7pm EST yesterday and ends at 11:59pm EST tomorrow (Sunday).
