Galaxy Note 9 owners, your One UI 2.5 update is here! – SamMobile

Samsung is finally rolling out the One UI 2.5 update for one of its 2018 flagships. The Galaxy Note 9 is being updated to the latest stable version of One UI in Germany today and getting a few new features in the process. The update comes with firmware version N960FXXU6FTJ3 and can be downloaded over the air directly on the phone through its Settings » Software update menu. The One UI 2.5 firmware is also available for download from our archives.

Among the list of new features is support for wireless DeX, which lets you use DeX on any TV that supports screen mirroring (though Samsung naturally suggests using its own smart TVs). The camera has also been updated with new functionality. Single Take mode now allows you to select the recording duration, and you can select the video recording resolution and frame rate (24, 30, and 60 fps) in Pro video mode. The Samsung Keyboard app has been improved with a YouTube search function and the option to use the split keyboard in landscape mode. Finally, the Messages app has a new feature that enables you to send SOS message every 30 minutes for 24 hours.

One UI 2.5 marks the end of major updates for the Galaxy Note 9

As with other updates, it may be a few days before One UI 2.5 becomes available in your country. It’s also worth mentioning that One UI 2.5 will be the last major update for the Galaxy Note 9, as the device did not make the cut in Samsung’s new policy of three generations of Android upgrades. However, security updates will keep rolling in monthly for at least another year, following which their frequency will reduce to once every three months.
